Phoenixville Refuge is a unique Christian community and ministry of Iron Works Church that seeks to serve those on the economic fringes within our town through food, resources, services, mentoring, and the hope of Jesus Christ. We’re who you call when there is no one else to turn to.
our mission
It is the mission of Phoenixville Refuge to provide the hope and comfort of Jesus Christ through shelter, food, and other aide for the most vulnerable in the Phoenixville community. We aim to meet the needs of both body and soul by providing housing and utility relief, weekly food distribution, hosting Scriptural study and providing for spiritual needs, and equipping those within our network with resources to connect with the broader community. Phoenixville Refuge is a service organization and relies deeply on our volunteer network for support.
1. We meet physical needs.
We are fortunate to live in a town with strong support from our foodbanks and other local non-profits, however despite these resources gaps still exist. Phoenixville Refuge is a “gap-filler” and tries to flexibly meet needs that may not be met anywhere else. From monthly food and diaper deliveries to rental or utility assistance to furniture donations or rides to doctor’s appointments, our services are expanding on a frequent basis.
Not sure if your need is something we support? Contact us to find out.
2. We provide services to promote spiritual vitality.
We believe that there is no greater need than to come to know of the abundant, lavish, and amazing grace of our God through our Lord Jesus Christ. What makes us unique is that we acknowledge the fundamental image of God that we all share and seek to equip those that we serve with spiritual resources to develop or deepen a relationship with their Creator. We support our mission by giving out Bibles, establishing youth and adult Bible studies, and connecting our community with local churches. Check us out – you may find yourself drawn to our distinct Christian community!
3. We build partnerships.
Our partnerships are vital to what we do and include a network of donor businesses that provide frequent donations of food and essential items as well as other non-profit and Christian organizations that provide supportive services including counseling, job placement, ESL, and housing/utility assistance. Odds are that if we don’t offer a particular service we know someone who does!

MONTHLY MARKET DAY
Every second Saturday of the month, Phoenixville Refuge hosts a Market Day. Fresh produce, meat, toiletries, diapers and miscellaneous household items are available for those in need in the community. Kids activities and games accompanied by a warm meal are offered in hopes of providing an opportunity for community members to build relationships. There is also a prayer station where community members are able to share any current needs and prayers requests confidentially with a member of our leadership team.
Spanish bible study
Bi-monthly Bible study led by the pastoral intern of Iron Works Church, providing the opportunity for members of the community who speak Spanish to dig deeper into the Word and learn more about Jesus.
Not sure if one of these current opportunities are for you? That’s ok, the needs adjust on a frequent basis! If you would like to be contacted with service opportunities in the future please fill out this short form below:
