Family Advent Dreaming Session

  • Iron Works Church 400 Franklin Avenue STE 245 Phoenixville, PA, 19460 United States (map)

Advent: the beautiful beginning of our liturgical year; the season of intentional meditation on Christ’s birth and the hope therein. It’s a time to lean into the poetic tension of waiting, yet singing.

For some of us, Advent is a welcome season of adventure and discovery with our children. We look forward to special times of family devotions, activities, and worship, remembering the Incarnation and the hope it inspires. For others of us: we want to observe advent with our children, but we get sidetracked during the rush of the season, or haven’t found a realistic entry point or rhythm yet.

If you long to magnify the name of the Lord with your children in this special time, please come to the Family Advent Dreaming Session on Sunday, December 3rd during the Sunday School hour (9a-10) in the cafe, with light refreshments offered. An RSVP is helpful, but not required.

Whether you are an Advent veteran with grown children or grandchildren, or still wrapping your mind around meaningful traditions for your toddlers or teens alike, this time is for you! The goal is to encourage one another with conversation and fellowship: testimonies of enriching family worship traditions, rhythms you’re trying to refine, pitfalls you experience, or lingering questions. Come with your favorite resource, an encouraging story to share—or, simply, an open mind and a blank notepad!
