FAMILY AND YOUTH MINISTRIES

We want to lead families and children into the freedom and grace found in Jesus, to support and equip parents in fulfilling their role as spiritual leaders, and to create for our children and families a living and redemptive community that seeks to love and serve the Phoenixville area. Our mission is to assist families in training their children to engage in meaningful worship with the congregation and to cultivate a desire to know, praise, and enjoy the living God.

Sunday School

NURSERY: available starting at 9:15 for kids age 0-4 during the Sunday School hour.

CATECHISM CLASSES: Fun, interactive Sunday School classes split into grades K-2 and grades 3-5. These classes combine a mix of play, song, and catechism. Kids are encouraged to grow in their faith, to ask questions, and to find joy in Christ.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Iron Works offers environments for children from birth-2nd grade during service on Sunday.

BABY WORKS: 0-2 years

In addition to special care and nurturing each week, little ones will be introduced to Bible stories and catechism music incorporated during their time in the nursery. It’s never too early to learn to worship.

Tot Works:  2-4 years

A weekly class that allows children to freely explore Bible stories and elements of the worship service in addition to supervised play. This time allows for a gentle, grace-filled introduction to the classroom.

KID WORKS:  K5-2ND GRADE

A weekly class with an emphasis on training children to begin to grow in their ability to focus, to engage the scriptures, and to encounter God, so that they will be prepared to remain in the service by 3rd grade. We seek to accomplish in a few ways:

  • Worshiping together with the congregation at the beginning and end of the service.
  • Creating a special place for children to experience and learn about God mid-service.
  • Providing an environment of increased structure, discipline, and training.

DOODLE SUNDAY

Usually, first Sunday of each month, children ages 4 and up are encouraged to participate in a special service designed to include them.  The pastor will speak to the children at various points during the sermon, give them special instructions, and include concrete or interactive illustrations. Booklets including an outline with some basic questions and space to draw are provided to aid parents in guiding their child through the sermon. Children and their families may also participate in other special ways during the service.  A variety of supplies and resources are available at the welcome table for children to use during the service, and an area has been designated for creative movement lead by our Doodle Dance Team during certain songs. Check the church calendar to see when the next Doodle Sunday is.

FENIX YOUTHGrades 9-12
